The communities of Mayglass, Wexford, and Killenaule, Tipperary are mourning the peaceful passing of Peter Lyons, who died on April 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family while under palliative care at Waterford University Hospital.
Peter, formerly of Ballynonty, Tipperary, was the beloved husband of Mary and a much loved and devoted father to Cormac and Oisín. He was predeceased by his father Jerry and will be deeply missed by his mother Mab, mother-in-law Lil Dolan, brothers Michael and Jeremy, sisters Caroline Savage and Geraldine Minogue, as well as his extended family, relatives, and a wide circle of friends.
Those who knew Peter remember him as a dedicated family man whose presence brought love, strength, and connection to those around him. His passing leaves a lasting void in the hearts of his loved ones.
Reposing will take place at his residence in Mayglass on Saturday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Removal will follow on Sunday to St. Fintan’s Church for Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m., with burial afterwards in Mayglass Cemetery.
The house will be private on Sunday morning. Family flowers only are requested, with donations, if desired, to St. James’s Hospital.
Peter Lyons will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
