The communities of Arklow, Wicklow and Wexford Town are mourning the peaceful passing of Kitty (Catherine) Hayes (née Walsh), who died on April 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of Wicklow Hospice.
Kitty, of Willow Grove, Templerainey, Arklow, was the devoted wife of Pat and a dearly loved mother to Paul, Graham, Pádraig, and Caitríona. She was also a beloved sister to Rita, Rosaleen, Frances, Toddy, and Toni.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, and her cherished grandchildren Lydia, Alicia, Róisín, Kurt, Lily, Alice, and Eliza, as well as her great-grandchildren Paige and Aria. Kitty is also fondly remembered by her extended family, including daughters-in-law Katie, Colette, and Laura, son-in-law John, along with relatives, neighbors, and many friends.
Those who knew Kitty remember her as a loving and caring presence whose life was centered around family, warmth, and connection. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kitty will repose at Hudson’s Funeral Home on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday at 12 noon at the funeral home, followed by burial in Castlemacadam Cemetery.
